Thyroid clinic opens evening hours for working patients

The Riverside District Hospital will open an evening thyroid clinic from Monday. Tests cost 150 rupees (demo) and reports are ready in 24 hours.

The clinic will serve about 120 patients a day. Doctors say thyroid disorders are common and often missed.

A basic blood test measures TSH. Patients with symptoms such as tiredness, weight changes or a swelling in the neck are advised to be tested.

Appointments can be booked online or by phone, and walk-ins are accepted until 8:30 pm.
