Asthma in children: how to spot it and what parents can do

Asthma in children: how to spot it and what parents can do

Asthma is one of the most common long-term conditions in children. It is not always wheezing; a cough at night can be the only sign.

  • Cough that is worse at night or after running.
  • Whistling sound when breathing out.
  • Breathlessness during play.

Doctors give each child an action plan: which inhaler to use daily, which in an attack and when to call for help. Keep it on the fridge and give a copy to the school.
